People

We all want to "look good" in photographs — but what does that really mean?

There are many methods for making a person's portrait more flattering —
and with image-editing software, there are no limits on how far this can be taken. Blemishes can be removed, wrinkles eliminated, waistlines slimmed, legs lengthened ... to the point where any similarity between the subject and the final image is purely coincidental.

My goal is to create images which capture the true spirit of my subjects.
This means making images which reflect what I saw, what I felt, and what I understood. Of course, I try to make portraits flattering, but not at the cost of changing the person's character.
